I have StudioLine Photo Classic 3. I've just successfully purchased and installed StudioLine Photo Classic 4. After installation, I double-clicked on the desktop shortcut created for this program.
The following pop-up message appears:
"Your StudioLine database is about to be upgraded: J:\StudioLine3Data\ Once upgraded you can no longer access that database with previous StudioLine versions. Do you want to continue?"
I click "Ok", and the program proceeds with "Database Optimization". Once "Indexing the StudioLine Database" completes, however, nothing else happens. StudioLine Photo Classic 4 doesn't start.
In task manager, I see "SLStartC.exe *32" running, but the program UI doesn't appear.
I've tried to do this again several times but I got the same result.

During the first start of StudioLine after installation the system creates an installation log at "%ProgramData%\H&M System Software" as no permanent StudioLine Data directory has been chosen yet.
In your case, your log file indicated that your Windows system had trouble with its Access Database Engine (a.k.a. as Jet Engine), encountering the error "System Resource Exceeded" while attempting to upgrade the database. There is a Microsoft Knowledgebase entry that might be related: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2726928/en-us.
The solution was to first let the database engine repair/compress the version 3 database. After that StudioLine 4 started successfully and was able to convert the database to version 4.
Best Regards, Andy
