Dear Ben,
StudioLine is able to import files/photos directly from any devices that simulate a "drive letter" in your Windows PC. Do you have your iPhone wired to your computer?
Alternatively, you can install Apple's "iCloud" App onto your Windows PC. It will add your regular iCloud Drive to your Windows Explorer, and it will also give you the option to "download" photos from your iCloud Photos into your Windows PC - from where you can then load your pictures into StudioLine like any other Windows file.

Hi Ben,
It's possible that you are using some third party software (such as iTunes), which has proprietary knowledge on how to access your iPhone through your USB cable. However, that access might be strictly exclusive to that particular software -- not generally available to "regular" Windows applications, such as StudioLine.
For Windows itself (and thus, regular Windows applications) to see the files on your iPhone, your phone would have to appear as a device (e.g., a USB drive) in your Windows Explorer.

Not all third party applications include the necessary general device driver to simulate external hardware (i.e. your iPhone) as if it was a Windows disk drive of sorts.

Many thanks Andy, if i understand correctly are you saying that as i have itunes on my PC it might be preventing SL seeing the device? That would be surprising as most people with an iphone will have itunes on their PC and so if i have understood correctly these people would not be able to upload from iphone to SL?
Have i understood correctly? If so is there a fix for this?
Note: I can see the iphone in the windows explorer as 'Apple Iphone' but when i look in the SL load assistant it does not appear

Dear Ben - just to avoid a potential misunderstanding: iTunes is not "preventing" you from seeing your iPhone, it's just not also "enabling" it to appear as a simulated drive that then could be accessed by regular Windows applications. So - iTunes is not "broken", consequently there is no fix. It's just Apple's decision on how accessible they want to make the files stored on iPhones under Windows. BenkH wrote:

(If so, you should be able to copy them to a local Windows folder and use that to import into StudioLine.)
