Andy,
The machine I was running Photo Classic 4 on has crashed badly. I have a new machine. I plan to download Photo Classic 5 but I am not sure just where I was in terms of being able to upgrade as I can no longer access/run version 4. Can I get an update of my status so I know where to start. I have rescues lots of my data, just can't get at the app.

Hi Wayne,

two options:

1. if you lost your Version 4 activation code, I can look that up for you.
If you need the setup program for Version 4, that too I can supply.
This way you can install on your new machine.

2. Yes, you can instead purchase Version 5 at regular price. (After having already used version 4 for eight years, there is no credit amount towards version 5).

PS: Still with "shaw"?

Andy,
I didn't realize it had been that long. It has been a good run except for the past few months. I will order v5 and on a dark and stormy evening will start to reload. Hopefully at least some of my files will simply read in.

Yes, still wayne.hewitt@shaw.ca

Wayne - if you DO have a Backup of the StudioLine Data Folder, or if you can somehow connect the old hard disk to the new system, then you could simply copy the "StudioLine Data" Folder to your new hard disk. When you open StudioLine (Version 4 or 5) for the first time, it will prompt for the location of the data folder and use all you info just like before.

From previous communication, I remember that you had used non-standard path names for your "StudioLine Data" parent folder, e.g.:

D:\STUDIOLINE DATABASES\ACTIVE DB\

and prior to that:

D:\StudioLine3 Data\ACTIVE\

So the important thing will be for you to figure out what the precise folder path is, otherwise StudioLine wouldn't find your data.
